Japan Sport Council and Australian Sports Commission sign agreement of collaboration
On Friday 9 August the Australian Sports Commission and the Japan Sport Council signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Sports Cooperation to promote and strengthen existing bilateral relations between the two countries.

The arrangement provides a framework for cooperation in sport to be jointly considered on the basis of reciprocity and mutual benefit. This follows visits by the JSC in 2012-2013 to the Australian Institute of Sport where representatives met to discuss areas of opportunity for collaboration and exchange.
Chief Executive Officer, Simon Hollingsworth, said “Australia and Japan have a history of international sport co-operation that includes exchanges between the Australian Institute of Sport and the Japan Institute of Sports Sciences and the reciprocal hosting of national sporting teams. The Asia-Pacific region can provide excellent opportunities for Australian athletes and teams whether for training or competition.”
