Institut National du Sport, de l’Expertise et de la Performance (INSEP) and Japan Sport Council sign a Memorandum of Understanding
On Thursday 20 March 2014, at House of Councillors in Tokyo, the Institut National du Sport, de l’Expertise et de la Performance (INSEP) and Japan Sport Council signed an agreement up to the end of 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic and Paralympic Games.
INSEP has played an important role in high performance enhancement as the base by providing the integrated service for elite athletes in training, sport science and medicine, and education. JSC’s strong partnership with INSEP will bring a number of opportunities for Japanese athletes, coaches, specialists, and other professionals involved in high performance sports in Japan. JSC expects this formal collaborative framework will benefit for both organizations and countries in various way.
The areas of collaboration will be, for example, dual career for athletes and coaches, assistance for collaborative activities between National Federations, exchange programs between students and professors in Masters and PhD courses, and so on.
Many senior delegation of France and Japan attended and witnessed this signing ceremony. This includes Valerie Fourneyron, the Minister of Sport, Toshiaki Endo, the Secretary General of Diet Members' League for Sport.
Mr. Jean-Pierre de VINCENZI, the Chief Executive of INSEP, said: “Today we can sign this MOU between the two institutions after many constructive discussions. We are looking forward to working together in order to develop our exchange program, researches and so on. I hope this opportunity will make our collaboration even stronger.”
And Dr. Ichiro Kono, the President of JSC replied: “INSEP does not only care about high performance, but also the social value of the athlete. On the occasion of this MOU towards the 2020 Games, I wish to further develop a beneficial relationship between France and Japan.”
